The European Union Film Festival is in its 11th year and runs from November 9-23.

Amerika Square is the film entry from Greece, which will be premiered on Tuesday November 14.

Amerika Square:  Tattoo artist Billy and unemployed Nakos are best friends from Athens. Old bachelor Nakos is racist, obsessed with the victim mentality, and completely frustrated with Greece’s increasing immigrant numbers. Billy, however, is in favour of foreigners coming into the country. They meet in Amerika Square in Athens because of Syrian refugee Tarek.

About the EUFF

The European Union Film Festival is a Not-for-Profit organization, and is a unique cultural collaboration of EU Consulates and Cultural Institutes in Toronto. The mission is to reflect the excellence, innovation, and diversity of European cinema in Toronto, the world's most multicultural city. Founded in 2004 as a salve to Hollywood monotony, this free festival showcases 28 contemporary films drawn from each of the EU's member countries. EUFF is a unique festival and the only one in the world to bring together disparate EU Consulates and local cultural institutes for collaboration.  The festival takes place in November every year at The Royal Cinema.
