THE MONTREAL GREEK FILM FESTIVAL IS BACK!
The Montreal Greek Film Festival (MGFF) was founded as a platform for Greek film directors, producers, screen writers and actors to showcase their work in Montreal. Over the years, the Greek community as well as the Greater Montreal community at large developed an interest in Greek foreign films, and this festival has rapidly grown in size and popularity.
The Montreal Greek Film Festival returns this year under the auspices of the Hellenic Republic and in partnership with the Hellenic Community of Greater Montreal.
MGFF 2018 will open Saturday, March 24, at Cinéstarz, 6700 ch. Côte-des-Neiges in Montreal and will run through Sunday, April 1. The Closing Night Reception & Film will be held at the landmark Rialto Theatre.
An exiting lineup will include some of the very best contemporary Greek films from around the world. Many of the films being presented have drawn the attention of audiences worldwide and are winning major awards at international film festivals. Two feature length films will be showcased at Cinéstarz each night and all movies will be subtitled in English. A series of matinée screenings will be added this year for our movie fans that prefer to join us in the afternoon. Also new this year is a special evening dedicated to short films by directors of Greek decent from around the world.
MGFF 2018 is produced with the support of the City of Montreal, the Quebec Government and the Government of Canada.
